Who Needs a Visa to Travel to Bhutan?

  • All foreign nationals travelling to Bhutan requires a visa, except for the following nationals

Bangladeshi, Maldivian & Indian nationals do not require visa while coming to Bhutan. Indian nationals can also travel with the voter ID card.

Thai and Swiss nationals holding official and diplomatic passports while coming to Bhutan do not require visa. The visa will by stamped upon arrival at the Paro International airport or any other port of entry by Immigration authorities. But those carrying ordinary passports need to process Bhutanese visa in advance.

How to Apply for Bhutanese Visas in Advance and How to obtain it?

Bhutan visa clearance is approved by the Tourism Council of Bhutan after concerned tourists have paid their full tour cost and visa fees to the Tourism Council of Bhutan through us. A copy of visa clearance letter will be sent to the concerned tourist, which they are required to carry with them while boarding the flights to Bhutan or produce it at the port of entry if travelling by land. Visa will be stamped on the passport on arriving in Bhutan, upon producing the clearance letter to the immigration officers. TT&T ensures that the clearance letter are shared with the clients before their arrival in Bhutan.

Bhutan Tourist Visa Extension

If you would like to extend your stay in Bhutan, TT&T will process your visa extension at a visa renewal fee of BTN.500 (USD 1 = BTN 65). The minimum tariff has to be paid for all the extended additional days.

Information and Documents Required for Bhutan Visa Application

TT&T will obtain your Bhutanese tourist visa once your tour has been confirmed and the full payment for your holidays is made. Additional one time visa fee of USD 40 is not included in the minimum tariff. The following details are required for processing your Bhutan tourist visa prior to the date of your Bhutan travel. Your Bhutan visa will be sent to you before the start of your Bhutan tour.
